Adventure Structure

FH-00 — Enter Coedmyr

The party enters through the Hart’s corrupted wake: malformed animals, vegetation, and signs that life is caught in the wrong state. The Ministry’s initial frame is stabilization or rescue.

FH-01 — Old Cook and Wolf Relic

An eccentric old believer shows the party a supposed cold-iron tooth of the mythical Iron-Maw, traditionally associated with Coedmyr’s spiritual hunts. He describes it in old language as something that can show mercy to or purify the Hart. He gives the relic to the party without understanding its complete mechanical role.

FH-02 — Blacksmith

The skeptical blacksmith recognizes that the Wolf’s Tooth was built to mount on a haft and resembles part of a ceremonial pole weapon. He is too busy to make it for the party, but allows them to use the shop if they establish a practical relationship with him. The PCs must participate in reconstructing the tool.

FH-03 — Ruined Shrine

The party discovers the old hunting shrine and its bell. Striking the bell incorrectly produces a brief pale aura that suppresses nearby corruption before fading. Evidence at the shrine shows that one participant traditionally stayed with the bell while the hunters moved through the forest.

FH-04 — Hunter and First Hart Encounter

A skeptical local hunter decides the Hart can be handled like an ordinary animal. The party can accompany him or learn from the aftermath. The encounter demonstrates that ordinary attacks do not resolve the Hart’s condition and that sustained pursuit can exhaust it. Corruption and lesser threats appear in its wake.

FH-05 — Recruit the Bellkeeper

Once the party understands that the bell must be maintained while the hunters pursue the Hart, they can train or recruit a local to fill that role. Without a helper, a PC must give up substantial participation in the pursuit to maintain the shrine.

FH-FINAL — Ritual Hunt

The reconstructed Wolf’s Tooth activates the bell correctly and calls the Hart toward the shrine. The party pursues it through a modified chase, overcoming corrupted terrain and creatures while building exhaustion. At the shrine, the active aura suppresses surrounding corruption. Once the Hart is sufficiently exhausted and exposed, the Wolf’s Tooth completes the proper final passage.

Investigation reveal

The adventure should support discoveries in several orders. Each preparation initially reads as restorative or protective. Their combined meaning eventually reveals that the old Coedmyr rite was a hunt and that the Hart’s rescue requires its natural cycle to complete.
